Do Essential Oils support our emotions?

In short, the answer is YES! Big time!

Why can I say that with such confidence? Because I’ve experienced it for myself, I’ve seen how much they help my kiddos, and I’ve heard testimony after testimony of how amazing these little bottles are.

So how do they help?

Our sense of smell is the only sense that is directly connected to our limbic system which is the emotional center of our brain. This is where our emotions, memory, and mood are processed. Think about how a scent can instantly take you to a time and place…even if that memory happened decades ago. And think about how that smell impacts your mood. For better or worse. I can smell oranges all day every day, and instantly feel happier. It’s why just smelling peppermint, refreshes us. Or why smelling Pine trees make us feel calm. The scent alone has a major impact on how we feel.

Each plant in nature is linked to specific health benefits. That’s why “a full 40 percent of the drugs behind the pharmacist’s counter in the Western world are derived from plants that people have used for centuries, including the top 20 best-selling prescription drugs in the United States today.”

That’s amazing! So why not utilize the oils from these plants to help support our bodies naturally?

Oils work through inhalation, absorption, or ingestion. And because our bodies recognize these plants as nutrients, they work to support our natural healing response. This is why it’s so important to use oils that don’t have any synthetic fillers or chemicals in them. And sorry to say it but most oils sold in stores do. If you’re buying those oils, you will not see the benefits. In fact, your body will view them as harmful, not helpful.

Because EO molecules are so tiny, they can penetrate our skin, enter our bloodstream, and can support the internal organs of our body. That is incredible! Do you know how hard it is to “create” medicines that have the ability to do this? Yet EOs do it naturally.

SO, next time you have the blues, or you’re feeling stressed, or need help calming your nerves, think about reaching for an oil with the compounds needed to help you with that specific thing.
